Experience the excitement of this year’s highly anticipated release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Immerse yourself in a nostalgic journey as the game includes beloved maps from the original 2009 version, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While some might find this aspect confusing in terms of the series timeline, it’s important to note that this is an entirely new game priced at just $70 – offering gamers a fresh and exhilarating experience rather than a mere remaster. Even though I feel a bit embarrassed to admit it, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement when reminiscing about the Call of Duty maps.

Get ready to relive the excitement of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 with a blast from the past in the upcoming 2023’s Modern Warfare 3. Activision is pulling at your heartstrings by including all 16 original launch maps in this latest installment. In a recent blog post, they begin with a warm and inviting “Welcome home,” creating a sense of nostalgia that will transport you back to those adrenaline-fueled days. Prepare yourself for an epic journey down memory lane as you step into familiar battlegrounds and experience the thrill all over again.

Take a trip down memory lane with these classic maps from the original Modern Warfare 2. If you’ve spent countless hours exploring Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, Karachi, Highrise, Invasion, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, Terminal, Underpass and Wasteland before – they are sure to bring back some nostalgic memories. It’s time to relive those epic battles and immerse yourself in the action once again!

According to the art director Matt Abbott, the new versions of these maps will not be exact replicas of the originals. Instead, their approach is to create enhanced versions that surpass the experience players have had before. Their aim is to deliver the best possible versions of these maps, as explained by Matt Abbott himself in the embedded video above.

Design director Zach Hodson stated that adjustments have been made to “fit more modern gameplay.” This shows a thoughtful approach towards keeping up with the ever-evolving gaming landscape and ensuring an enhanced gaming experience. As an example, you can now access areas on the skyscraper rooftops of Highrise that were previously unreachable. However, Hodson mentions that “for the most part, the maps are going to feel incredibly similar” to the originals. You can expect Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 to be released November 10, 2023.
